I started dating my wife long distance. She was in Turkey, busy with a show contract that lasted six months. We committed to a short-term, long-distance, relationship in August of 2016, and we’d wait three months until we got a chance too see one another in the flesh. “So High” was very much inspired by that period. The guest artist on the song is a Cape Town-based singer Can Skylark who took a chance and got hold of me on Twitter to ask about a possible collaboration. I gave her music a listen and found a musical connection. She flew up to Johannesburg and, with the story of my future wife in mind; we penned the song with her lyrics being her interpretation of what my future wife was thinking during those three months abroad.
